Signs a Wound Is Going Wrong
Our nurses escalate the same day on spreading redness beyond the wound margin, foul-smelling or increasing discharge, fever, increasing pain after day three, blackening of tissue, or a wound that has not reduced in size over two weeks. Diabetic ulcers are treated with particular caution - offloading pressure matters as much as the dressing itself, and a small ulcer ignored for a fortnight is how amputations begin.
